At Mountain Home UMC you will find a community that loves to sing our faith. We have a time in our worship when we spontaneously call out hymns we’d like to sing. We call it “you pick”. We choose both new and old songs using the traditional United Methodist Hymnal and the newer The Faith We Sing. Our choir may be small, but it brings energy and a spirit to our worship experience.
We have a time of prayer in our worship service when we routinely pray for people close to home and around the world. Folks in the congregation make prayer requests during this time. In our prayers we try to be honest with each other and God about what hurts and makes us sad as well as what gives us heart-warming joy!
Our pastor’s message each week lasts about 20 minutes. We celebrate communion once a month. Everyone is welcome to participate in the sacrament of holy communion. We always explain how communion works, so there’s no need to worry if this is new to you. We believe it is the most poignant illustration of God’s desire to be in relationship with us and our desire to love God and the world to which we are called to be in mission.
